This policy aims to establish clear guidelines for providing massage therapy services to clients who are minors (individuals aged 6 to 17). Our primary concern is ensuring the safety, comfort, and well-being of minor clients while complying with legal and ethical standards.
Parental/Guardian Consent: All clients under the age of 18 must have a parent or legal guardian complete and sign the intake form for them.
Accompaniment: A parent or guardian must be present in the room for clients under the age of 13. For clients aged 13-17, the parent/guardian may be present in the room based on the preference of the minor and their parent/guardian.
Initial Consultation: A detailed consultation will be conducted with the minor and their parent/guardian to understand the minor’s health history, treatment goals, and any concerns.
Ongoing Communication: Open communication will be maintained with the minor and their parent/guardian to discuss progress and any adjustments in treatment.
All therapists providing services to minors will have appropriate training and qualifications, including understanding specific needs and considerations when working with younger clients.
Privacy: The minor’s privacy will be respected at all times. Proper draping techniques will be used during the massage.
Comfort: The minor has the right to request a stop or modification to the massage at any point. Their comfort and boundaries are our top priority.
Any concerns regarding the welfare of a minor client will be taken seriously and reported according to state laws and regulations.
This policy is available for review by clients and their parents/guardians at any time on our website.
