FAQ

Policy FAQ

Do you have a conduct policy during sessions?

Yes. In a professional relationship, sexual intimacy, sexual innuendos, and inappropriate comments and/or touching are never appropriate. If any of this occurs, the session will be terminated immediately and possibly be reported to the proper agency.

Can I be refused treatment?

The most likely reason we would refuse to treat a client would be for medical reasons. A post-surgery recovery period and obvious illness would be possible examples. Please communicate with your therapist if you have any questions about whether or not you could be denied treatment for a specific issue. Feel free to call prior to booking if you have questions.

We can also refuse treatment for safety reasons. Also, we have zero tolerance for sexual activity, sexual suggestions, or inappropriate language or gestures. The session will be terminated immediately and the proper authorities will be notified.

Do you have any mask requirements?
  • Masks are currently optional for clients and staff. Staff will wear a mask upon request.
  • All of our treatment rooms will be thoroughly disinfected and cleaned between every session and client.
  • Hand Sanitizer available upon entry and in every room.
What is your Cancellation Policy?
  • We have a 24-hour cancellation policy. Please call 24 hours in advance to cancel or reschedule your appointment. We understand that circumstances arise, however, it is very difficult to fill your time slot with less than 24-hours notice. The full-service price will be charged if we cannot fill your spot (we will provide a refund if your time slot books).
  • Sick Cancellations – In order to keep our clients, staff, and community safe, we will not be seeing any clients that are exhibiting symptoms of an illness. Please be sure to email or call and cancel as soon as you feel ill. We will not charge you the cancellation fee due to sickness. It is not recommended to get a massage when you are feeling sick.
  • No Show Policy – We will charge you the full amount of the session booked when you do not show up for your appointment regardless of the reason. Please be respectful of your therapist’s time and cancel if you cannot make your appointment time.
  •
What happens if I am running late for my appointment?

We understand that sometimes circumstances arise that will cause you to arrive late for your appointment. We will do our best to get you on the table as soon as you arrive so you can receive the remainder of your session length. Because of our busy schedule, we will not be able to extend your session length if you arrive late. You will be charged the full price of the original session time booked. We reserve the right to treat your appointment as a no-show and late cancel if we do not hear from you after 20 minutes of your scheduled start time.

Do I need a doctor’s note to receive treatment after surgery or other medical procedures?
No, however, please be sure to speak to your doctor and obtain clearance from the doctor to receive massage on any affected areas.
What should I do if I’m unhappy with my massage or other treatment?

We expect our therapists to effectively communicate with you and we ask that you do the same with them. Let us know what you like and do not like. Be sure to communicate your pressure preferences and speak up if you would like more or less pressure. Be sure to let them know if something hurts, is uncomfortable, or isn’t what you expected because your time with us should be rejuvenating and relaxing. If you do feel you have had a subpar experience please contact us by phone at 303.990.0841 or email us at frontdesk@renewmassagestudio.com. We will see if we can remedy the situation to everyone’s satisfaction.

Massage Etiquette FAQ

Do you have a conduct policy during sessions?

Yes. In a professional relationship, sexual intimacy, sexual innuendos, and inappropriate comments and/or touching are never appropriate. If any of this occurs, the session will be terminated immediately and possibly be reported to the proper agency.

What services do you offer?

We offer various types of massage including Deep tissue, Swedish, Sports, Neuromuscular, Trigger Point, Medical Massage, Cupping, Infused Lotion, Hot Salt Stones massages, Prenatal, Craniosacral, Lymphatic Drainage, Essential Oil Alignment, and more.

What should I expect during my first massage therapy visit?
  • New Clients are expected to fill out our Client Intake and Consent form electronically before coming in.
  • Once you are in the room, your Therapist will begin by asking you general questions to establish what areas you would like worked on, if there are any conditions needing to be addressed, and to determine what massage is appropriate for you. It is important to list all health concerns during your medical history form so the therapist can adapt the session to your specific needs without doing any harm. It is also important to list any allergies so the therapist is aware if they need to use a different product during the session. The key to a successful massage is communication so always let your therapist know if you have a concern, question, or request.
What should I wear to my massage?
Since most clients will be naked or in their underwear while on the treatment table, you should wear clothing that is easy to remove before your massage and easy to put back on when the massage is over. Loose, comfortable clothing is our usual recommendation.
How do I pick the right type of massage?

The best approach would be to browse our Therapist profiles on our website. They can give you a better idea of their specialties and knowledge so you can pick the therapist that best suits you. Not sure who to pick? Send us an email at frontdesk@renewmassagestudio.com or give us a call at 303.990.0841 and we can help you decide what might be best.

What kind of Oils and Lotions do you use?
We use hypoallergenic and organic massage creams from Zen Organics. We find this to be the best and safest product out there. For oils, we use Rocky Mountain Essentials which are some of the highest quality available and we also have Tiger Balm Liniment upon request. Our infused oil is made from our Zen Organics massage oil and an infused isolate.
Do I have to be naked for my massage?
Your Therapist will ask you to undress to your level of comfort. Many people prefer to keep their underwear on during a massage, while others prefer to be nude. It’s up to you. If you do remove your underwear, our Therapists must ensure that you are always properly covered/draped by a sheet.
Is it rude to fall asleep during a massage?
It is perfectly OK and safe to fall asleep during a massage. If you fall asleep, it won’t be a waste. Your nervous system still regulates. Your cortisol levels still drop. Your muscle tissue and ligaments still soften, release, and let go. The manipulation of joints still gives way to more space, and the lymphatic and circulatory systems are still stimulated.
Can I request a specific therapist?
Yes! When you are booking an appointment be sure to select the name of the therapist you prefer.
Can I get a massage while I’m pregnant?
Women can begin massage therapy at any point in their pregnancy. Studies indicate that massage therapy performed during pregnancy can reduce anxiety, decrease symptoms of depression, relieve muscle aches and joint pains, and improve labor outcomes and newborn health.
Are your therapists all licensed, certified, and experienced?
All of our therapists are licensed Massage Therapists by Colorado’s Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA), are Insured, and have experience in the massage field.

What if my massage hurts?
Open communication with your Therapist is key to a massage that meets your needs. If you have an injury or chronically tight or painful areas, be sure that your therapist is aware of it before the start of the session. If the pressure is too intense, tell your Therapist immediately so he or she can ease up. Our Therapists are trained to adjust to your pressure preferences throughout the entire session.
How long does a massage last?
We offer massages that last from 30 minutes to 120 minutes. The length of your massage is dependent on what you feel is necessary.
