In Craniosacral Therapy the massage therapist senses the subtle oscillations of the cranial, spinal, and sacral bones caused by the movement of your cerebral spinal fluid. Where those oscillations are out of sync the therapist uses very light touch, working with the movement (never against) to bring the bones’ movements back into alignment. The pressure exerted by the therapist is only the weight of a quarter.
CST is used to treat:
- Migraine headaches
- Cluster headaches
- Temperomandibular Joint Disorder (TMJD)
- Postural misalignment
- Emotional distress
- Impact traumas such as whiplash and concussion (you must be at least 3 weeks post concussion)
In most instances, this treatment induces an altered mind state which is very relaxing. Many people feel as if they have had a long nap after a session.
Other useful details:
- You can remain fully clothed during this treatment
- We do not have a therapist certified for CST treatment of children and infants at this time
